Tom Ford Returns…With Womenswear
After a six-year hiatus, Mr. Tom Ford is returning to womenswear. However, this time the comeback came differently. It came in a very fashion + class & jet lag way. Somewhat secretive, Mr. Ford pulled back on his phenomenal womenswear collection’s exposure. Scorning the way news travels, the designer gave no publicity event to satisfy bloggers, reporters or Twitter’s twerps. All that was presented to the world were these four pictures below. Only 100 prominent guests, carefully selected by Mr. Ford, were allowed to attend his private launch runway show at his Madison Avenue boutique in NYC.
The Spring 2011 collection will be small and not easily available, being sold only in his sixteen menswear boutiques. Yes, perhaps it was difficult to hear or see much of Mr. Ford’s new line, but it was all done in a VIP sort of way. Exclusive. And for this, we applaud him for leaving us to crave even more something that we have always lusted. | Giuseppe
“It’s about individuality. Real clothes, real women. For a fashionable woman aged 25 to 75. That’s why I literally put many of my own muses in the show. I hear them say, ‘God, I can’t find that anywhere!’” – Mr. Tom Ford on his new women’s collection
