French Vogue Announces New Editor-in-Chief

Ms. Carine Roitfeld’s unexpected step down as the queen of French Vogue was the shock that finished 2010. Relinquishing her title for personal reasons of wanting to pursue other avenues + experiences of life, the fashion world plunged into weeks of speculation of who could possibly fill the position that Ms. Roitfeld held triumphantly for ten years.

Finally yesterday, January 7, the news came from the magazine’s publisher. Condé Nast International has named Fashion Director Ms. Emmanuelle Alt as the successor, starting February 1. Ms. Alt joined French Vogue around the same time Ms. Roitfeld did, having formed a synchronized partnership between the two ladies that increased French Vogue’s circulation by the thousands. Below, are a few pictures of the matriarch who will ascend to reign over the publication.
