Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week | NYC – Dennis Basso FW 2012
With fur, jewels & satchels, the star-studded audience boarded the Orient Express with Dennis Basso for Fall/Winter 2012. As sounds of a chugging train rolled down the runway, so did romanticism in the form of forty-one different looks of pure luxury. Encompassing a color palette dominated by alabaster, black, gray & navy, the collection is dictated by cashmere, silk & georgette to flow to the rhythm of a lady’s movement. Simply classy, simply sophisticated.
The outerwear is decadence. Lynx, chinchilla & Russian sable envelope each look in a range of colors & styles. Accessorized with stunning clutches, train cases or totes, several of the dresses are showered with crystal quartz embellishments. Python makes a brief appearance, the color cayenne becomes Mr. Basso’s signature. Although the collection is mostly minimal, the accent pieces are powerful. There are statements to be made. The most visible one- opulence. | Giuseppe
