Runway Spotlight: Carlos Miele
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week | New York City
Spotlighting a favorite from SpringSummer 2013:
Carlos Miele sent the audience prowling through a sexy jungle as a collection dominated by animal prints, chiffon & the color nude migrated for the season. Leopards, tigers, zebras & giraffes transformed into something ala Andy Warhol- traditional prints mixing with an array of colors including white, acid yellow & phosphate blue.
The green pleated silk charmeuse pant was intriguing, looking like enveloping large leaves & supporting the hallucinatory theme. Gowns; several strapless, others asymmetrical; emphasized the hourglass figure. The green silk chiffon dress with a triangle of green silk charmeuse: simply divine. Seductive. And so was the taut acid yellow dress with the leopard print. Fringe detail danced with every step, turquoise embellishments sparkled. The transparency of the fabrics throughout the collection was provocation done with taste, it still left to the imagination… to want to explore more. Discover. A message to Tarzan, this is what his New York Jane looks like in Concrete Jungle. | Giuseppe
